AIR now supports candidate interviews in nine languages, making it easier than ever to deliver a localized and consistent experience around the world. This FAQ explains how the multi-language experience works for both clients and candidates.

AIR currently supports the following languages (and we’ll continue to add more):
- English
- Spanish
- Portuguese

👥 Candidate Experience
What language will the candidate see first?
AIR automatically detects the candidate’s browser language. If it’s one of our supported languages, the welcome page and interview setup screens will be shown in that language by default.
What if the interview supports multiple languages?
For multi-language interviews:
- The candidate will be prompted to select a language before continuing.
- Once selected, the full experience will re-render in the chosen language.
Can the candidate switch languages mid-interview?
No. AIR enforces language consistency for fairness and scoring accuracy:
- If a candidate begins speaking in a different language, AIR will politely prompt them to return to the selected language.
- The interview will not proceed until the selected language is used again.
🛠️ Client Setup and Configuration
How do I configure a multi-language interview?
During the job setup flow, recruiters must select one or more languages they want to support for that job. Candidates will only be able to choose from the options selected.
⚠️ By default, interviews are conducted in English unless other languages are manually enabled.
What happens when I paste a non-English job description?
If your job description is written in one of the supported languages, AIR will automatically:
- Detect the language
- Generate interview questions and grading criteria in that same language
This makes it easier for global recruiting teams to create jobs in local languages with minimal manual edits.
