Watch out for some of the more common criminal scam activity

  1. FAKE TOKEN SALES
    1. A popular scam tactic for new crypto tokens is to list fake tokens on decentralized exchanges like SushiSwap and Uniswap. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!
    2. Here’s how you can check to confirm the legitimacy of any BTRST token listing: Simply make sure the token’s contract address is this BTRST token: 0x799ebfABE77a6E34311eeEe9825190B9ECe32824
  2. Twitter/Linkedin/Social Scam
    1. Messages from people impersonating team members. Check their profile before responding
  3. Email phishing scam
    1. Messages from people impersonating team members or other related individuals. Often include attachments to download etc. Always check the sender address url.
  4. SIM Swap
    1. Common hack in crypto that where someone calls your cell phone provider and requests the password or email to be changed for 2FA. Then they reset password on exchange accounts and now have have access to your exchange accounts. This is why you want to have google authenticate or Authy vs text 2FA and may want to consider having a separate email address that you don’t use with other accounts.
